Through the next four months, Vancouver plus size clothing designer Babs will be featured at a number of Signatures “fine craft shows”. If you happen to be in the area you can check out her latest fashions and make a few additions to your fall and winter wardrobe.

Medicine Hat Fall into Christmas show Best to You Show — October 16 – 18.
Red Deer Our Best to You Show — October 23 – 25, Parkland and Prairie pavilions.
Lethbridge Fall into Christmas — October 30 – November 1, North Pavilion Exhibition park.
Regina Our Best to You Show — November 6 – 8, Canada centre East, Evraz place.
Saskatoon Our Best to You Show — November 13 – 15, Prairieland Park.
Edmonton Indie show — November 20 – 22.
Toronto One of a Kind Show — November 26 – December 6, Direct Energy Centre.
Edmonton Signatures Show — December 3 – 6, U of A Butterdome.
Ottawa Originals Show –December 10 – 20, EY centre.

Babs Online Boutique

The Babs Studio Boutique has been in Vancouver for the last ten years. This coming April it will close its doors forever; at least its walk-in doors. Designer Babs is taking her boutique into cyber space so all of Canada can swoon over and purchase her fashions.

Her online boutique, Babs V-commerce store, will be a little different thank your average online shop. Instead of static mannequins she will produce videos with live models featuring her products as well as provide commentary for who they best fit and “demonstrate how to mix and match the clothes, jewelry, and accessories”.

Babs Studio Boutique dresses women size 2 to 26. If you live in Vancouver everything in store will be up to 90% off starting tomorrow. They plan on closing the doors for good at the end of March.

There is no date set for the opening of the online store but it is said to be in the next few weeks. I for one am looking forward to it!

Canadian Outerwear

If you live in the Vancouver, BC area you have the option of visiting Babs Studio Boutique. Occasionally they get to Toronto to participate in hand-craft shows; unfortunately, there is no option to shop online. But if you fall in love with something on their website it wouldn’t hurt to email them to find out if they would accommodate you shipments. At the very least, sign up for their newsletter to keep abreast of events. They are one of the few stores that caters to sizes 2 to 26. It is a small boutique with a nice offering of clothing including these original coats from their 2010/11 Fall/Winter collection. I especially love the lavender waterproof linen coat and the sky blue raincoat.
