Holiday Dresses

If you are thinking of ordering your holiday dress online then you shouldn’t delay; especially if you are thinking of ordering outside of Canada. Shipping takes longer to begin with but add the high volume packages from the holiday season to that and it can slow it down even more. Some of the larger shops like Igigi use private shipping companies which offer quicker delivery for an added price. When it comes to cocktail parties and evening events Igigi is definitely on the top of the list of places to shop. They are definitely ready for the holiday season. Mademoiselle Style

Short Sleeve Tops

It’s hard to believe there are still a lot of sleeveless and short sleeved items in the shops right now but there’s a good reason for it. They make excellent layering pieces and layering is where fashion is at right now (nothing new for Canadians). Like this Short Sleeve Deep V-neck top from Addition-Elle. It would look great layered under a business jacket or the endless cardigan options that are also so hot right now. And of course the collar makes it polished enough to wear by itself should you get overheated at some point during the day. These tops are available in twelve colors in sizes 1x to 4x for under $20. My favorites are the white, island blue, Paris red, and plum. (I’m not sure what it is with the weird poses with the shoulders extremely back and boobs pushed out.)

Plus Size Sweaters

I was looking at Addition-Elle’s plus size holiday collection and I got distracted by their sweaters. We do live in Canada after all and it’s already hard to think about anything that doesn’t have some kind of sleeve. I found a lot faves in their sweater department. Many are on for 2/$79. Here are my faves (one for every day of the week):

You’ll probably notice the same thing I did — a LOT of grey and black. I only found one bright blue sweater that I liked and the one red sweater I had mentioned a while ago. I want to know where are the chocolate, purple, beige and whites are. This is not just with Addition-Elle, I’ve noticed it at a lot of the UK stores as well. It seems we are to have a dark fall and winter. We’ll have to dress them up with bright accessories!

Funky Pattern Dress

I’m not a funky person but I love this funky patterned maxi dress from Anna Scholz. This isn’t just another maxi dress you buy and stuff in your closet. At £449 this is an investment dress that you love and make a point of wearing often. I love the contrasting black lapel collar and alternate pattern sash. The dress looks feminine and easy as is for a comfortable day with sandals or when it’s a little brisk with black / gray tights and a long sleeve black micro shirt underneath and your favorite boots.
