Sexy Lingerie from Torrid

In general sexy lingerie is pretty limited locally. Online there is a lot of choice but many of the businesses carry the same products. For something really different there is Torrid. They tend to be a bit edgy without going into full sleaze mode. Here are a few of my favorites today including the incredibly cute Wonder Woman, sorry, Hero Bustier that kind of looks like Wonder Woman’s costume. All items range from $30 to $36 US (yes they deliver) and are available in sizes 0 to 4x (some sizes have sold out).

Affordable Clothing at Ashley Stewart

I didn’t have to search through oodles of pages at Ashley Stewart to find fave outfits but I was surprised how affordable they are especially with their current sale on. And overall, the site is looking good. If you haven’t heard of the Butterfly Bra be sure to check it out while you’re there. It’s made specifically for women who are heavy on top. They have Canadian shipping but you have to go all the way to check out to find out what the order cost is. The good news is they don’t collect the duties and customs ahead of time.

Holiday Shopping Online

It’s December. In general it may take up to three and half weeks for a parcel to come from a store in the U.S or the U.K. And that is compounded by the mail service being overworked with everyone sending parcels (unless you pay the extra fees for priority shipping which can be outrageous). If you want to give the gift of a shopping experience for your plus size lovely/friend/partner/spouse/sister/mother then gift certificates are a safe way to go. They allow the shopper to shop at their convenience for what they want (instead of what you think they want or need). And they arrive safely to their email. 
There are lots of online shops that offer gift certificates (e-certificates, gift cards) online that ship to Canadian shoppers. Here are a few in no specific order that I checked who offer gift certificates: Torrid, Addition-Elle, Penningtons, MXM, Hips and Curves, eShakti, Her Room, Forever 21 Canada, and Toni Plus.
You can find these stores and links to their shops listed in the Canadian stores and Canadian delivery listings. If you can’t find an obvious banner for gift cards try looking under the website’s “customer service” text link; most likely near the bottom on the front page.

Silk Maxi Dress

I fell in love with the simplicity of Melissa Masse’s Silk Maxi dress this week at La Grande Dame. All it needs is a chunky belt and boots in bright red or camel (current fave accessory colors). It is available in sizes 1x to 3x for $380.
I really like the neckline and dress length but the real think that curls my toes is that it actually has sleeves. I’d say 90% or more of the maxi dresses I’ve seen this season are still sleeveless or are too fancy. This silk dress is a refreshing change.
