For truly unique plus size swimwear you must visit Monif C. But be warned, with that unique designer swimsuit comes a steep price. Monif C is best known for her amazing Marilyn convertible dress; a few years ago she introduced a few swimsuits and each consecutive year there have been more options to tease and delight us. Most sell out fast, sometimes before they are even available (via pre-orders). Here are a few (I had like ten which is most of the line and cut it down to four) of my current favorites:
The Bikini
Plus size swimsuit separates that include the option of a full brief and a bikini top are going to be even hotter than last summer as more women impose their right to bare arms, legs, and bellies. Monif has a few print and sold options to choose from. I love the simplicity of this black and white pattern. And doesn’t that top look like it was made to support a plus size woman’s breasts?
Active or Modest or Sensitive
Whether you are very active in the water, a little modest, or perhaps you burn easily on the chest and arms. The Malibu Surfer suit is glorious with its pseudo-peacock print and long black sleeves. I adore this one.
Peek-a-Boo
This peek-a-boo shoulder one piece comes in a few color options but the burnt orange is so bright and so festive. The deep V shows your sexy means business.
Ruffles
The Trinidad Ruffle swimsuit also comes in a few color options but I love the basic black. A simple swimsuit is made pretty by the addition of an all over ruffle, reminiscent of my favorite peasant tops, and a few hip dangles.
